Polymer Physics Group
The Polymer Physics Group provides a forum for all who have an interest in the physics of polymers.
The interests of the Group embrace the morphological and mechanical properties of solid polymers; the solution and melt properties of polymers; and the similarities between synthetic and biopolymer systems. The Group is jointly sponsored by The Institute of Physics, The Royal Society of Chemistry (Faraday Division) and The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. All administrative matters are handled by the Institute of Physics. We enjoy links with the Macro Group with whom we publish a joint newsletter. The committee is composed of physicists, chemists and engineers from academia and industry.
Meetings
Each year the Group organizes a few one day or longer meetings to discuss specific aspects of polymer physics. The three day biennial conference, embracing all aspects of polymer physics, is held in September of alternate years.
The next meeting is due to be held at the University of Surrey on September 2011. A number of group awards and prizes are linked with the biennial conference.
