Division prize
Terms of reference
The Optics and Photonics Division prize shall be awarded to someone who has made significant recent advances, on a specific topic relevant to physics supported by the Division. The contribution may be in one or more of the following areas:
- In research, as evidenced by publication in refereed journals within the previous five years
- In the industrial exploitation of research as evidenced by the introduction of new products or services within the previous five years
- In education or training through development of new courses, teaching materials or outreach activities in the previous five years.
- In leadership of a contribution to optics and photonics, e.g. in bringing to fruition a new facility, service or initiative, within the last five years
Eligibility
People working within the UK and Ireland at the time of the award and for the duration of the significant contribution being recognised by the award.
