Mott lectureship

The Mott lectureship is awarded annually by the IOP Condensed Matter and Materials Physics Division.

It is awarded to an outstanding researcher whose work has predominantly been done at a UK or Irish institution and who, in the view of the division steering committee, will present an informative and lucid talk on their research.

The award consists of an invitation to give a plenary lecture at the annual CMMP conference and presentation of a book by, and a photograph of, Professor Sir Nevill Mott.

Nominations are now being sought for the 2012 lectureship. To make a nomination, please complete a nomination form and return it to I.Morrison@salford.ac.uk. The closing date for nominations is 31 March 2012.

The CMMP Division Committee will particularly welcome nominations of younger research workers, in particular those whose research has some connection with Sir Nevill’s own interests: collision theory, nuclear problems and the properties of metals and semiconductors.
